Timed perfectly with the two-year extension just signed by defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, Ravens defensive tackle Kelly Gregg, a long-time student of Ryan, reached a four-year, $20.3 million extension that will keep him a Raven until 2011.

He is one of the best run-stuffers in the NFL. That is value, and he is worth the money. He came into the league as a low rounder and was cut by his original team (the Bengals) and has made himself one of the best NT in the game. The guy is a load in the middle and is a big reason the Ravens are rated so highly against the run. He is the anchor of that Ravens defense.

Besides, he only got $3.5M in guaranteed money, so it isn't as big a deal as it sounds.
