the AP reports that Huntley is offering Morris $7,500 for his #33. This sounds ridiculous to me. Its not even the # he wore in Carolina there he wore #34 but that isn't available here in Buffalo for obvious reasons. Morris probably doesn't need the money but if I were him I'd take it anyway. If Huntley wants it that bad, there is no reason to start a conflict over a number.

Morris should take the money, then get 33 back when Huntley gets cut.

If Bryson is not traded then IMO either Huntley or Morris will be cut. Since Huntley is a TD choice from the Pittsburgh days he has the upper hand. If I was Morris I would take the money. If he makes the team it's very possible Huntley would be the odd man out so he could have his cake and eat it too.

keep the number... Huntley should just suck it up... if the number had some sort of "history" for him, I'd consider it - otherwise - grow up.

what is it with some players and the numbers...Kelly wanting 12 I can understand but Huntley is not exactly the second coming of an All-Pro...he wants it that badly then Morris should ask him for $10,000 at least.

They should give Huntley 32.

If Huntley could only snag the #33...then he'd be a superstar...

If it weren't for that Preston Ridlehuber thing, he could have 31.

I hear that Huntley wants to follow in the footsteps of his hero, Ronnie Harmon.

This type of action proves to me that Huntley is individually driven. He feels that the world should revolve around him and that his team mates are insignificant. I'd like to see him go even more then ever before.

Oh please, Redeye. This type of "action" happens all the time in team sports - baseball is the one that most comes to mind. What's the big deal?? He's offering Bam's li'l bro chump change (for them) to switch numbers. Sammy either accepts it or he doesn't. Big crisis facing the team due to Huntley's selfishness isn't it.
This is the exact same thing as doing a favour for a co-worker so that they'll switch shifts with you. That's not disruptive to the organization and neither is this "action" disruptive to the team. Perhaps some other traits he has been attributed (i.e. unsubstantiated rumours that he was mouthy to teammates on the practice field) would warrant the criticism some are levelling at him. But asking a teammate to switch numbers?? Come on.

If my opinions offend you then ignore them HR. God knows that I have ignored yours in the past.

Problem is that your not discussing anything. You initiated your post with a directive that I find insulting. I've been watching sports for some time and don't need to taught any lessons that you feel you need to project. If Huntley is a player that you find morally pleasing then fine. My opinon differs. I'd rather you not inject your ideas through mine.

I didn't mean to offend you at all with my post. If I did I'm sorry, when typing as I'd speak, I forget that written words will carry more meaning than that would be given if they were spoken (i.e. the "Oh please" was intended in a playful as opposed to derogative manner).
However, that's about all that I am willing to apologize for in my post. I won't apologize for disagreeing with, nor for presenting my reasons for disagreeing with you.
On the other hand, your posts seem entirely directed at me personally and not once at what I had to say.

I'll take the beer and take back the earlier posted sensitive response. It's cool HR - I need not read into things.

Ok back to the topic at hand...

I also disagree with Huntlery wanting of the number as selfish or ven causing a chemistry problem. It seems as though he wants the number simple enough. On my Lacrosse team I payed a guy 12 bucks for #12. It wasnt because I was selfish or because I didnt like him but because it was my fav number and would have liked it, had he said no then no bigs. I think Humtley is just trying to forget Carolina (and who blames him?) and try and get back to where he was in Pittsburg (with #33), Morris was better with the 45 then the 33. So why not take the cash? Im sure we could all use a little extra spending money especially if its 7500.

LOG your buying? Ill take one!

Give Huntley 33 1/2. He'd be the center of attention in every game. Announcers would never stop talking about it.

NOOOOOO!!! No fractions for players...we already have the Helmet Guy with a fraction. :D

I say let Huntley pay for the switch. The only thing that bothers me is that the Bills hold back on issuing #34 and #78 while #83 was put back in circulation with Dave Moore.

I asked myself the same question. My guess is that they allowed Moore to have #83 because a team needs alot of WR in camp and there weren't enough numbers to go around.
