Given what was still on the board, Lynch was our very best option. We resisted taking a CB or a lesser LB. I like the pick a lot. Now let's go LB, WR, LB and call it a day.

No, it really isn't. This guy is a home run threat every time he touches the ball. Good pick.

Seeing how Willis wasn't there, I actually love the pick. Turner would have cost too much and we nowgot a star at RB!

Anyone think Buffalo leap frogs NE at 28 for a LBer?

I'll take it. I've been concerned about his character/intelligence etc. But if Marv picked him, I'm sure they've put that issue to bed. I'm actually pretty happy with it, I think he was a good value at 12, and I'm REALLY glad we didn't take a CB.
Now lets go get a LB!

if we package a 2nd and 3rd to get back in the late first and grab Beason/Harris/Poz, I'll be absolutely stoked about day 1.

I actually agree with that...but it isnt saying much. Person is damaged goods and I think he will be a bust for that reason only. M Lynch by default will be better.

I thought he was better then Peterson, mostly due to Peterson’s durability issues. Peterson has Garrison Hearst written all over him.
He's a beast, a pure buffalo runner, the type of guy who would dominate in the cold and snow.
He was also the guy I had circled as the no1 pick for the bills and was hoping for before today.

Glad to read that you feel this way about Lynch, Ingtar. That means a lot to me and makes me feel even better about this pick.

I don't think Lynch is using the Mama's Boy just to impress the NFL.
There have been many Mama's Boy articles (http://calgoldenbearfootball.blogspot.com/2006/08/oakland-tribune-lynch-is-cals-mamas.html) over the years that he was at Cal.

Marv must have REALLY liked Lynch to turn down the Cleveland offer for pick #36 and next year's 1st rounder. That would have been a decent trade down scenario for us.... picks 36, 43, 74 and 92 on day 1 this year plus a (probable) single digit pick next year from Cleveland

This is a fantastic pick. I've seen pretty much every game Lynch has played over past three years (and a few of them in person) and he is a legitimate stud running back. We could have a real nice offense this year!
