The number in the middle of the 2 greatest back in Bills history would be nice.

Really? I thought they put their names on the wall instead of retiring numbers.

Actually you're right. Kelly's is the only retired number. I wonder if that will change and they'll add Bruce and Thurman?

I thought Poz said he would be humble about it and not step on anyone's toes for their number.

I thought Poz said he would be humble about it and not step on anyone's toes for their number.

I read that somewhere, but when I heard the Poz interview, what he said when he was directly asked if he wanted Conlan's number in Buffalo (since he had it in college) was that he would "take whatever number was available." This is not a no or a yes. Poz can take Spikes #51, and a lot of people could just change the name on the back of their jersey. That a popular jersey now...it'd be a shame to throw them all away.

I really wouldn't mind if Pozluszny took Conlan's number, but Lynch taking Thuman's jersey would be strange at best. It wouldn't feel right, and it would be a hell of a thing to have to live up to. I wouldn't even think it if I were him. 20 is always a good RB number. Take Cribbs' old #

I'm OK with Poz having 51 or 58. If Lynch wants 34, I think it would be nice if he spoke to Thurman first.

I knew they would cause problems.

Might as well deal them now and see what we can get for them.

Give these guys whatever number they want.

I don't see anything wrong with using a number of anyone that is not retired. He can have #32 if he likes. The Bills have had some great players but there are only 99 numbers that can go around so if he wants #34 and the Bills have not retired it then let him have it. If the Bills don't want to issure #34 then retire his number.

Put him in #34 and hopefully he channels Thurman every game he plays.

If both of these kids have the balls to think they can live up to the reps of Thurman, Conlan or Butkus let them have them.

I'd love to see another Bills running back wearing #34 and tearing up the league, just like Cookie Gilchrist and Thurman Thomas.

If Poz gets #51 I can recycle my Spikes jersey. A little duct tape and a magic marker...

58 was Villarial and 51 is Spikes. They're both gone- let Pos have whichever one he wants.

If he takes 51, I might be able to get my Spikes jersey converted.....

To us old farts, #51 was John Tracey and #58 was Mike Stratton.

Two LBs from the AFL championship years.

I ordered some Bills stuff last week and tried to get a cheap 51 hat but they were sold out. I think they had it at like $5 which was too good to turn down if our next LB selects it. If Poz selects 51 there will be quite a few people recycling that hat.

somehow, I doubt Posluzny remembers that. It happened almost 20 years before he was born.
