Which UDFAs will make the roster and why?
If you are going to rant about Ralph being cheap or Bills have no talent create yor own thread.

I am asking which will make the 53 list and will create a another poll which UDFAs will make the squad.

I think there is room for a LB and a tall WR on the roster.

I'm guessing 987 gumballs in the jar.

Everybody is going to pick LaRon Harris and he'll be the first to get cut. Sorry to take the fun out of it.

Duane Coleman (CB) looks like a good prospect and we need depth at CB.

Laron Harris (DT) is huge and if he does have the ability to disrupt the backfield at that size, then someone else has to go from our regular rotation. You have to put the best guy out there even if you have a bunch of DTs signed.

Cornelius and Quinn look like excellent prospects that may push has-beens like Price out and maybe even Reed. Cornelius has great speed and runs great routes - what Price should be doing and isn't, and Quinn appears to be a great possession receiver that Reed was supposed to be, but is much bigger at 6'0 and 200 lbs and knows how to use his size.

I agree I think Harris will get cut quickly.

I think Laron Harris has only the potential for the PS, he is way to raw to be thought of as a true NFL prospect yet, he needs to be refined, his athletism is hard not to recongnize and the article on espn gave everyone a high hard one for him, i hope he pans out

But on another note Jermaine Cornelius could spell the end for someone like Aiken or Wilson, he has alot of talent and atheltcsm and was actually under utilized a FL, he has a strong shot to make thsi roster,

As well as Coleman from Clemson, he has some charahcter issues, but who doesnt smoke pot, if he keeps his head on straight he will be a solid number 5 CB for this team,

I also like the production of Stacey Thomas he was all world at his schools and had 5 picks last year, could spell the run of jim leonard, he is a ST guy too,

Also the WR Johnny quinn is suppossed to be a ST demon as well, but i like Cornelius for the 5 spot at wr over him, those would be my picks,

I could see a few of these guys on the PS though especially Tubbs the OL from Arkanasas, he was suppossed to be drafted in the 5th-6th round so was Washington LB colorado according to one of my draft books, they could land themselves nicely there
i am intirgued by some of these guys hey u never know!

Well, i think alot are going to be signed because we have no depth and it doesnt seem like we're signing any big FA's. But this could be good. The youth movement is not a bad thing, its obvious we're building to make a move next season, not this season, but if we do this season, all the better. But i think it's great to have holes that can be filled with all these rookies. Look at marques colston last year, and even Jason Peters. Given the shot, these UDFA's can be good, and most dont get a chance because other teams have talent in their respective positions. This could either backfire, they could all be bums, or we can really have some diamonds in the rough. based on the late draft picks last year, it's obvious that marv and co. have a knack for finding talent in the most unexpected places. lets hope we can be like the saints last year and luck out.

Cornelius has the best chance, IMO.

Coleman has a shot too, I could see him being the 4th corner.. Behind McGee,Thomas and Youboty (OMG that's bad)

The good thing about this post is that I think that the depth is getting better, and the question might be better formulated as "who is likely to make the practice squad?" In this light, I'd say LaRon Harris stands a much better chance to land there, than on the roster. Same for Reggie Lewis and/or Duane Coleman. Jamelle Cornelius is possible too!! Under the assumption someone does make it, I went with Lewis....

No I specifically said it WASN'T about that which is why I included that disclaimer that I'd post another poll about PS later.

Chris Jackson has a good shot as a Kickoff specialist. 24 touchbacks and had many more driven into the endzone that were brought out.

If he shows he can consitently kick the ball 10-15 yards further than Lindell, he sticks as roster spot #53.

Coleman is the only guy that I can see having an outside shot of making the final roster. Going by our lack of depth at the Corner position and the fact that none of our corners exactly excite me, but with our scheme it really doesn't matter as long as they know the scheme and their assignments.

We have enough 3rd and 4th receivers so none of those names are worth mentioning.

We have plenty of DTs now, so LaRon Harris honestly stands little chance.

DE, we have plenty of money invested in too and throw Hargrove in and no chance in hell for Mace.

As much as I dislike Fowler, the guy we got as an UDFA really has no chance beating him out.

And we didn't get any LBers outside of one ILB, so I don't think he stands a shot either.

Cornelius could end up on the PS though.

That pretty much sums it up.

Any receiver that makes the team has to be a good special teamer - that is just the nature of the Bills right now.

I thought it interesting that the Bills would bring in two big space eaters at defensive tackle - the type of player that does not fit the mold of what the team looked for last year (high motor guys that are quick but slightly undersized).

Cornelius has the best shot with Lewis behind him

I'm not surprised. Jauron and Fewell were both quoted as saying in order to stop the run, they might have to think outside the box with a 2 gap DT rotating with the 1 gap starter (McCargo) . Glad to see them looking at Harris and Wright. I bet one of them sticks.

I think at DT Tim Anderson could be on the bubble, but Harris would have to have a really great training camp to beat out Anderson and the guy the Bills picked up from Miami, Manuel Wright. I think the battle will be between those two , the Harris maybe getting a shot at the PS.

Sam Aiken and George Wilson may be vulnerable among the WRs. Price and Parrish will have at least one more season to up their production before they are seriously at risk. Jemalle Cornelius probably has the best credentials among the UDFAs. The trouble is he represents more of what the Bills already have a lot of, fast guys under 6 foot. Aaron Brown is a better fit if the Bills are looking for a bigger guy who can outfight CBs for the ball in the red zone. I wonder if that's too big a leap for him. If Buffalo really wants a bigger receiver, might they opt for Chris Denney, who already has had some exposure to the Bills offensive system?

At cornerback, there will be one new guy make the team. That's going to be Lewis, Coleman, or last years UDFA, Eric Bassey. Bassey's got better measurables. However he was more raw coming out of college. If he was able to get a handle on the Bills defense and brush up on his technique while on the PS, he might have the inside track.

Thaddaeus Washington is great on run defense, but may lack some in pass defense. He might compete at middle linebacker with John DiGiorgio, last years UDFA. DiGiorgio is undersized, but probably better in coverage. It depends what the Bills are looking for.

One or two of this guys are going to make the team, but it could end up being a surprise to all of us which one.

George Wilson may be vulnerable among the WRs.

I cannot believe this guy has never gotten some playing time, especially with Gutless playing small at the #2 position.

Anyone who has attended a few sessions of camp the last 2 summers must have noticed this guy catching EVERYTHING thrown his way. Great hands and sharp patterns.

Doesn't make sense.

From what I've read, I think Cornelius, Lewis, Coleman, Harris, Travis Hooper and Corey Davis have a shot, but more than likely, on the PS.

It shows that people are evaluating players based upon on their opinion of current players not abilities of players brought into camp.

In all fairness, most people have probably seen very little of any of these players. So the only thing they have to judge on is our weakness at the position. Considering how bad Anderson is, most people (including myself) thought that perhaps another DT with some ambition could come in and take his place more easily than not. However, we have very little to use to judge if these players have that ambition/go-getting attitude or not...

I voted for him. I don't think it's hard to beat out Price, Reed or Aiken...

Coaches obviously think well of Price and Reed to give them their contracts so I think it will pretty hard for a UDFA to beat them. Akien is always vulnerable as long as his mandatory salary goes up every year.
