I know I am a hockey idiot but drury has been the man the last two years....yeah he just got a big goal but he is ultra consistent in his play and does the little things that drive us forward.

Chris Drury has been awesome! I can't wait to get a #23 jersey after the season, once they extend him. While I really like Briere, he's been mediocre in the playoffs and Drury has been unbelievable. Between the two, Drury is definitely the one to keep. He is sooo ****ing CLUTCH! :bf1:

WKBW Ch 7 last night interviewed Tom Golisano last night down in the hallway of the Sabres locker room right after the Sabres won and they asked him about this win and how great it is for the city of Buffalo and the Buffalo Sabres. Then they asked him about Chris Drury and Daniel Briere and he said "that he's made up his mind and he said that the Sabres are focused on keeping Briere and Drury at any cost". Then he was asked about Zubrus and he said "we only got him as a rental player. right now were only focused on keeping Briere and Drury".

well... we have some great guys down in Rochester that we could replace people with if needed at a much lower price.

Also, Maybe Zubrus will try to impress and play even better than he is now to try to stay on the team... not that he has a lot to improve on right now

Depends what Zubris wants. He let it be known in Washington that he was looking for $4 million a year. That hastened his depature.

The Sabres won't pay him that. If no one else does, he might play fro 2-3 million (Hecht money)


However, the deeper we go in the playoffs, the more likely a stupid team like Phoenix or Columbus might fork it up

the payroll is going to depend a lot on Vanek too. If I had to choose between Briere and vanek I'd take Vanek myself.
