This guy sucked when we had him

Now the Falcons signed him for another 5 years, lol

What a difference between Moorman and Mohr. I wish we'd just wrap him up long term and not have to worry about it. If there's one bad thing about TD, it's how he values kickers.

Falcons | Mohr Signed to 5-year Extension - posted at KFFL (http://nfl.kffl.com)
10:14 PT: ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports the Atlanta Falcons have signed P Chris Mohr to a five-year contract extension. He was entering the final year of his previous three-year deal with the team. The new deal is worth $4.435 million in “new money” and he’ll have base salaries of $755,000 (2003), $760,000 (2004), $765,000 (2005), $770,000 (2006), $770,000 (2007) and $770,000 (2008). He also received a $600,000 signing bonus in the deal. His salary cap for 2003 will be $1.05 million.

I don't regret letting go Mohr. He was the worst kicker in the league. Moorman had a very good year last year.

    PA,

Are you trying to say you would still like to have Mohr?

I think TD is learning to value his kickers a bit more after the first year. As we all know, consistancy in the kicking position is important for a team that plays at the Ralph as it takes a bit to get the hang of the weather. TD must realize this by now and see that Hollis did a pretty good job in his first year with Buffalo. I expect that he'll eventually sign Hollis to a long-term deal.
Still searching for that offensive rhythm.

There was nothing wrong with Mohr - he didn't kick for distance, but, he was the best "hang time" punter in the league, plus was also good at placing the ball within the 10. I like Moorman, but don't "kill" Mohr unjustly. He always was in the top of league in fewest punt return yards allowed.

I think he'll hold onto Moorman too. I think we all know how good he is.

Imight add though that I think Mohr was pretty darn good in his day too, though. I always heard people saying that no one could kick the ball that high with such terific hangtime when he was in his prime.

Mohr was actually pretty good. Sure he didn't have a lot of distance all the time but his hang time was among the best in the league.

Since when did Chris Mohr "suck" when he was here? He had great net average on punts to my recollection due to excellent hang time. He had good accuracy, and was adept at hitting the coffin corner.

Announcers always raved about Mohr's placement of the ball, Judge is right about the coffin corner. He was outstanding at it. He was very good punter for the Bills.

I think moorman is one of the best in the nfl and we should sign him long term before the rest of the nfl realizes it

Here's a comparison of the two's career stats:

                          Mohr:

                          207 Games,
                          989 Punts,
                          Gross Avg. 40.5,
                          Avg. Return 8.56,
                          243 Inside 20,
                          Ins. 20 %: 24.6
                          et. Avg. 36.9

                          Moorman:

                          32 games,
                          146 punts,
                          Gross Avg. 41.8,
                          Avg. Return 10.32,
                          34 Inside 20,
                          Ins. 20 %: 23.3%
                          et. Avg. 36.9

We've also gotta remember that Moorman struggled when he first started and and that this was only his second season. I thiink he's gonna be much better than Mohr ever was. Moorman can loft them pretty well too. He'll only be in his third season.

Here are their last two seasons:

                          Mohr: 2002 ATL 16 gm, 67 pts, 41.9 gr. avg., 21 Ins. 20, 38.7 Net avg.

                          Moorman: 2002 BUF 16 gm, 66 pts, 43.1 gr. avg., 18 Ins. 20, 36.0 Net avg.

Plus, we had no STs at all in the coverage depts. That didn't help him.

In his first two seasons in the league Mohr had only about a 39.0 gross avg., an inside the 20 avg. of only in the mid-teens, and a net avg. of less than 34. So Moorman is doing fine.
Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!

                          Then let's go to Disneyworld!

                          GO BILLS!!!

Is anyone arguing if 1 is better than the other? I think both are good, myself.
