Michael Vick is expected to be suspended by the NFL if investigators find he had knowledge of a dog-fighting ring on his property in Virginia.
Animal abuse in Virginia is punishable by up to a one-year prison sentence. Vick claims he had no knowledge of the operation but has been found to own a business that breeds dogs and sells pit bulls

That's what I was thinking. Sucks to be the Falcons right now if it happens.

Would the NFL really suspend one of their biggest poster boys though?

I don't think Tagliabue would have but I think Goodell would. I really like Goodell so far.

The league is on such a roll right now, they can afford to make an example of a poster boy. If anything, it would show the people that are sick of hearing about NFL players in trouble with the law that the league really is trying to clean itself up.

Goodell has balls. If there's proof Vick knew about it, I don't think Roger'd have any problem pulling the trigger on a suspension.

And thank goodness. The NFL needs to start weeding out the morans. :D

well, suspend him or not, if he is found guilty and goes to jail it will be very hard for him to play, wouldn't it??

I've said it before...

I bet now Atlanta wants back that #5 pick they traded away, which resulted in some guy named LaDanian or something.

Its things like this that make me happy we have Edwards. Just imagine if JP shows he's the guy for good and we have Edwards just sitting there when someone's thug QB gets suspended? Oh man, the draft picks we'll get will be ridiculous.

I wonder if Atlanta wil take a run at Trent Green. I still don't think Vick will be suspended.

I think if the NFL wants their new policy to have teeth, they're going to have to suspend the first star they can, meaning Vick (assuming he's guilty). If they only punish lesser-known players or ridiculously egregious violations like Pac-Man, no one will take it seriously (players or fans) and the behavior and corresponding image won't change much.
