If Kaleta, McArthur etc could beat thier starters, we should be in for a 5-6 game series.

We're deeper and we have better goaltending.
Plus, the problems we experienced in the first two series are fixable; we'll be way more up for this series than those, and I expect 60-minute efforts. We've only seen glimpses of how scary good the Sabres can be.

Ottawa is not a pushover. Emery is hot right now and they are also 4 lines deep.

I feel very good about our chances in this series. Emery isn't half as hot as the last goaltender we faced, he doesn't scare me at all.

I think you are over estimating Emery. He was still poping out rebounds.
Brodeur sucked, so maybee that is skewing your pereception.
He beat Brodeur so he must be hot? Well yee of little faith, maybee we have an advantage with Miller:

The GAA are essentially identical and the sv% are very close as well.

Is there a real advantage?

You can rattle Emery. I would go to war with Miller anytime over Emery.

Why all the doubt

This team needs to play a grittier game... they were out worked much of the 1st 2 series and didn't dominate enough the way a championship caliber team should.

The Sabres need to find the next gear or Ottowa will win this series IMO.... I just was not overly impressed with our play the last 2 series and I can't help buut feel they don't want it bad enough, and there sitting back and relying on thier talent

I am worried, and I hoping and praying we will see a much different team in this series...one that is playing like a championship team.

Against Ottawa you will see a much more determined team. I think the last two series woke these guys up.

New Jersey and Pittsburgh are not nearly as deep as Buffalo however the same can be said for the Rangers and Islanders.
Buffalo is as healthy as they have been all season and much healthier then the last few times we played them...It will be a tough great series but you can't expect to win the Cup without facing great teams..Carolina just got lucky last year to play against teams that had unbelievable injuries.
Emery has not faced nearly as many shots as Miller..

I really hope so because after games 2,3,4 vs: the Rangers I felt sick to my stomach.

i still believe!

However, the boys need to step up their game to the next level....they were lax against the Rangers.

Because there are times when common sense is closer to the truth than faith.

i said it elsewhere but the big thing for me is the revenge factor and the top dog factor

the sabres are trying to hold onto what they think is theirs and the sens want to take it away from them. thus the sens have less to lose and can let it all hang out a bit easier

add to that the fact that the sabres are the sens nemesis, having been booted out of the playoffs the last three times these two teams played in the post season, and it makes it all the more apparent the sens have the psychological edge

its basically a coin flip and due to the factors i mentioned my guess is the sens finally get the breakthrough theyve been looking for

please lord let me be wrong

This post pretty much nails it on the head.

Against the Islander's there was no motivation or rivalary.

Against the Rangers I think the Sabres under estimated them, so matter what Ruff's says.

Against the Senators, we have it all. Motivation, Rivalary and they won't under estimate them. I look for the Sabres to come out flying. Sabres in 5, Again.

I'm not afraid. And I've said it before....Emry vs Miller. Who's better? It's a no brainer! Ryan Miller is the dominant goalie and so much better. Also, I believe that the Sabres have been saving up for this series and will be playing each game as hard as they can. Sabres in 6!

the key is the one who should still be in jail...stop him and the sabres win the series.
