We even went so far in the early going last year to suggest that Seattle would have problems because left tackle Walter Jones was a holdout and was delayed in getting back. All of a sudden, when Jones played late in the year and was in form, the Seahawks were the league's hottest team. Now I don't know if you credit that to Jones, but you be the judge.
The left tackle is a paramount job to fill. With the exception of a team with a left-handed quarterback, the job of a left tackle is to protect a quarterback's backside. He usually has to block the defensive team's best pass rusher, so teams are looking for players who have quick feet, long arms, speed and, of course, strength.
