CBS 8 in Las Vegas reports LB Richard Siegler, who was released by the Steelers on Thursday, is being targeted by police for his alleged involvement in a juvenile prostitution ring on the streets of Las Vegas.
Siegler was arrested in Pittsburgh shortly after he was cut. The third-year player is charged with enticing women to become prostitutes and running an escort service. He faces three felony counts and ten years in jail.

I'm convinced that the NFL has a worse image than the NBA now.

NFL - 32 teams x 61 players (53 man roster and 8 practice squad)
NBA - 30 teams x 12 players

the NFL has 6 tims as many players as the NBA (currently) - >1800 vs. 360...there would also be more NFL "alumni"...more numbers = more arrests.

I understand that, but there is still no excuse for the crap that has been going on lately.

NBA & NFL can cross-promote their thugery.

Are these players flawed in their common sense?

no...many of them come from disadvantaged upbringings and sometimes have shadowy friends that they don't disassociate themselves from...

This is the exact reason why street gangs exist! Very sad

So 98-99% of the players that stay out of trouble deserve to be thrown under the bus with the few bad apples.

Got it.

Waving a broad brush is so easy and requires little brain power...on several levels.

No matter how tough the commish is, there will always be a few who continue to self destruct with dumb decisions. Suspending them or kicking them out works for me.

The notorious exploits of athletes/celebrities always receives big headlines.

No offense, but why does this matter to the NFL. It was a former player who hardly anyone heard of. This should be swept under the rug. Now if Peyton Manning is arrested for pimpin' whores, then it will be bad pub.

Plus, the celebrity many enjoy in the NFL convinces them that they are somehow better than everybody else, and therefore above the law. Some who don't avail themselves of financial advisement or post fooball career counseling find that the money they earn as players quickly slips through their fingers, and their looking for quick ways to bring in lots of cash to support the lifestyle they had gotten used to while playing. I'm afraid the Darwin Walkers and Troy Vincents of the league are in the minority, and there are only so many jobs in broadcasting to go around.
