Thought I'd post a thread on this since Skatezilla's post is getting lost in the shuffle in the GDT

Yesterday at 11:46pm (http://sabresfans.proboards66.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=Sabres&thread=1178951529&post=1179031583), skatezilla (http://sabresfans.proboards66.com/index.cgi?action=viewprofile&user=skatezilla) wrote: <TABLE class=bordercolor cellSpacing=1 width="90%" bgColor=#000033><TBODY><TR><TD width="100%"><TABLE class=quote cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD width="100%">Frame 1, a Few Frames After Lydman's Shot

Frame 2, Puck is Pretty Much Above the Goal - Line or a few inches in front of it in the Air.

Frame 3, Puck Is under The Crossbar hitting the Back Post,

Frame 4, Puck is exiting the Net, Now, If you look at the Pucks Angles before and After the "Ding" you can use your common sense, which implies the puck hit hte back post and came out,

You sure the puck isn't even with the crossbar in the 2nd to last photo?

anybody got a link to the replay?

I went back and watched my DVR and played it frame by frame but still couldn't tell 100 percent.

and it is not the reason the Sabres lost.

I'd really like to see the rplay from above the net.

when i saw that shot i was screaming that it was a goal.

I played goalie in my youth, the puck came out WRONG for it to be a crossbar... i knew it hit the back of the net.

F*K!

I remember that play because the vs announcers said somethign lame to explain the odd bounce out... they claimed it hit the "inside" of the post. BS, that puck came out at the wrong angle, and at the wrong trajectory.

1. I was watching in HD, and Used Zoom on my DVR, The Puck went under the Cross bar,

2. The Reason the Goal Judge Never hit the light and the reason we never saw an over heard was, Guess, Ray Emery Positioned His Watter Bottles over the Middle of the Net, which he was repeatedly told by the refs to move them to the side

Watching that replay again...It took that puck a little while to come out/off of that net. The water bottle coudn't be that big to block the puck.

You are right. An extra goal wouldn't have done a thing.

the thing that bothers me was that Lydman didn't even celebrate it. If it was a goal and as obvious as you say...why wouldn't he or any of the other Sabres celebrate it or protest it?

Oh and **** Ray Emery! What a piece of **** for putting his water bottle there. If they can't fix the camera problem, I think they should make the goalies keep the bottle inside the net. On top of it makes no sense!

If the goal had counted, the game still would have gone to OT. The Sabres' third goal was 6-on-5 desperation, which wouldn't have happened if the game had already been tied.

Ray Emery Had the "Oh Shiz" look on his face,

And a 3-1 Lead into the 2nd woulda been better than 2-1,

Negative. This would have changed the game completely. It would have changed play. Ever hear of the ButterFly Effect? The puck would have been in different locations during the whole game...

Can somebody say Foxtrax

A standard NHL In Glas Co game puck was cut in half and electronic components were inserted allowing the puck to be tracked by sophisticated computers that generated the 'blue and red streaks' when the puck was passed or shot and the 'blue halos' that highlighted the pucks location. Four sensors were visible on each flat surface and several more on the edge of the puck. They should bring it back, or do something different.

If we didn't play like a wounded gazelle in a lions den we wouldnt have to worry about the last second heroics or this "goal"

you took that out of Mike Roitaille's book didn't you  that's something that Mike Robitaille would say.

yeah, i do see Emery looking in the net at the puck. It's very surprising that this play wasn't reviewed.

OK, I Tried to link the DVR to get hte HDTV Feed from the HDD, and for some reason windows Refused to install the drivers, so I ended up doing it thru S-Video,

Anyway, Main Factors, the Angle of the Puck In and Out, Emery Saw it In, and Stopped playing, until he realized there was no whistle.

Tried to Clean it up as much as I could:

WMV9 Adv, WMA10, 720x480, 3Mbit Video, 384 Kbit Audio
1x Speed w/ Sound, .5x Speed w/ sound, .10x Speed 250% Zoom
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZJ4QGK27

added the .25x Speed, 150% Zoom w/ Sound Clip

Looking at angles, teh fans were blocked by the post and water bottle, and only assumed the ref waving it off was right, the only person who knew for sure was emery, when he looked over his shoulder, he knew it hit the back post, he did his "gee i shoulda had that" One Knee pose, and didnt realize the refs had continued play till a few seconds later..

The Shot was a Low Rising Shot, Barely went over Emery's GLove, Hit hte Back post and continued to rise on its way out, then lost all velocity and plumetted to the ice...

.25x Speed, 150% Zoom w/ Sound:

That's not a goal- it Hit's Emery's wrist deflects up, hits the crossbar, and bounces off it in an arc.

The first goal off the glove however shold have counted. That was ridiculous.

RJ even said it hit the back post and bounced out when he was doing the play-by-play. But he didn't call it a goal.

There is a camera IN THE NET. No water bottle obscuring it

It was operated / monitored by more than one TV network. If Vs had a choice on who would go to the finals, it would be the US city that delivers a 40-50% share of TV ratings when hockey is on instead of the Canadian city in which Vs isn't even carried. If there was any tape of theat puck going in, we woulda seen it a hundred times.

I'm pretty sure I seen a clip of emery getting a piece of it, then hitting the cross bar, it was a shot from behind the net too so it was pretty convincing.

I gotta say no goal.
