View Full Version : Watching the Sabres has become like watching the Bills

Over the last few seasons, the Bills have consistently found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The season opener against NE, the home opener against the Jets, and Royal's drop in the endzone come immediately to mind, but the point is that, recently, it has been impossible to watch a Bills game without trepidation because at any given point they could blow it (and usually did).

The Sabres were so fun to watch in the regular season because they were the polar OPPOSITE of that. If they got a two goal lead, it was over, and if they got behind by two goals, it still wasn't over until the final horn sounded. Every time it looked like the chips were down, someone would do something amazing and the team was right back in it.

But now, the Sabres are like the Bills. In OT in game 2, I got nervous anytime anyone on the Alfredsson line touched the puck. And ever since the short-handed goal in the first game, I get a sense of uneasiness on every PP (the 2 on 0 on the PP tonight proved why). The Sabres are playing like the Bills have been playing: timidly and without that killer instinct.

Buffalo sports are just cursed. At least this time we're losing to Canuck fans instead of a bunch of redneck bandwagon-jumping Southern "fans" who never deserved to see their team win the cup.

and why was that? because in each case the Bills lost to a team that was BETTER than them...no different than the Sabres and Sens right now.

Why can the Bills lose to the Giants on a missed field goal and how did Hostetler hold onto that ball in the end zone, how can the Cowboys win 2 without the Bills figuring out how to win one, How can a no goal be a goal and give Dallas the cup, how can the Sabres lose every Dman in the playoffs last year and still take it 7 games only to lose to a team that was NOT better, how can OTT, who has made the playoffs for the last 10 years, 10 years, who were being labled losers, heartless, soft, yadda yadda yadda stick it to the Sabres, How can the sabres who were the most potent offense this season have trouble scoring, how can this be? Better???? Not sold, it's something else.
