When Philadelphia used its top pick on Houston quarterback Kevin Kolb, the Eagles quarterback most impacted now is not Donovan McNabb, but rather Kelly Holcomb.
Even though the Eagles are determined to carry four quarterbacks through much of the preseason, it's unlikely they'll carry four into the regular season. Therefore, one has to go.
McNabb, as the face of the franchise, is a lock; so is Kolb, the potential quarterback of the future. And this offseason, the Eagles re-signed quarterback A.J. Feeley to a four-year, $7.2 million contract that included $2 million in guaranteed money.
This leaves Holcomb, whom Philadelphia acquired in an off-season trade from Buffalo, as the fourth quarterback and the apparent odd man out.

As he should be... he needs to go to a team with an awful QB situation where he can be the legitimate #2. That would be the ideal role for him.

He'll end up somewhere-- no clue where but somewhere. AS long as he's NOT a starter- he's a good QB to have on your roster. There are a lot of worse backups in the league that have a job.

If The Holcomb is lights out in Andy Reids offense (as expected) do you honestly think they are going to release him?

Feeley is crap - but given the financial implications involved with releasing him they are almost forced to keep him.

Philly is a loaded team at just about every position, don't be shocked one bit they sacrifce a roster spot for this wily veteran.

If for some reason The Holcomb is released from Philly - don't be shocked if Marv sends Nall Ball packing and resigns the wily veteran.

He does know the offense and would be the perfect mentor for The Young Gun, and also Losman would be confident again knowing he's back in the mix.
