Hall should follow Wall for Tasker

Our Caesars Sportsbook Promo Code 'USBETCZR' offers all new players at Caesars Sportsbook online sportsbook and mobile app up to $1,100 as first-bet insurance.

Tasker was a reminder of just how vital a spectacular special teams performance can be toward triumph. The best way to consider an outstanding play on a kick is to think of how much it benefited either of the other two phases of the game. How many more plays would the offense have had to run in order to gain the ground that the kick returner obtained when he brought the ball to the 40 instead of settling for the 20? How much easier will the defense's task of victory in the field position battle be when it has extra yardage at its back because a gunner brought down the punt returner momentarily after the latter fielded the ball? The fact that the players participating in this aspect of the game have a single chance at a time to inflict one's will upon the contest makes each play that much more crucial, and Tasker was up to the task every time.
A remarkably likable person who is succeeding in his second football-related career analyzing the game at which he excelled, Tasker is now a beaming citizen of his adopted area, extending his mutually appreciative relationship with Western New Yorkers. Work hard at a largely unglamorous job, and Buffalo will embrace you; stopping returners after knocking aside two or maybe three blockers or, on the other side, stopping punts at their source by blocking kicks was enough to earn Tasker eternal gratitude, not to mention an endless free bar tab, in and around Buffalo.
Amen to that. Will a STer ever be recognized in the Hall? Tough call... if there is one who deserves it, we all know its him.

I'm not sure if he'll ever make it, but I think he deserves to be in the Hall. He was the game's first real all-around impact special teams player.

He may make it in someday down the road in a particular year when its a weaker Hall of Fame class

The question is, is there a place in the Hall for a ST specialist? If the answer is yes, then it's a no-brainer that it should be Tasker.

Since they only let in 6-8 guys a year, I don't think he'll ever make it.

I have a hard time justifying him getting in, especially considering guys like Art Monk still arent in.

                On those Bills teams who was more valuable to the team winning;
Talley, Hull, Reed, Odoms, Hansen, Conlan or....Tasker ?

Out of those six players only Reed has a shot at the HOF.

I like Tasker but a special teamer doesn't belong in the HOF imo.

Since there are already kickers in the HoF, there is a precedent.

Tasker was more importatnt all of those you metioned except for Reed, Hull and Talley.

There should be based purely upon the impact great special teams / special team players can have on a teams season

In Taskers case he excelled at the position for a long period of time and was recognized regulalry for his efforts

Ok. Are Reed, Talley, and Hull going into the HOF ? Maybe Reed. So why should Tasker go and not Talley and Hull ?

Adam Vinatieri and Steve Tasker both belong. I don't care if they "only" played special teams.

There is only one pure kicker, Jan Stenerud. There are no punters. Stenerud made it because he played for so long (19 seasons). At the time of his enshrinement he was the second-leading scorer in NFL history (behind George Blanda), had the most field goals in NFL history (373) and was the first player to score 100+ points for 7 straight seasons.

If I had to pick one ST-er only player to put in the Hall of Fame it would be Ray Guy. He belongs there because he had a huge impact on winning games, more than Tasker, Vinatieri or any other ST-er I can think of.

The Bills are running into the 69 Cubs syndrome. How many guys can you have in the HOF from a team that never won it all?

That's what is keeping Ron Santo out. The 69 Cubs already have Fergie Jenkins, Billy Williams, and Ernie Banks in the HOF. The Big Red Machine from the same era only has 2 (Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench). Joe Morgan will never allow a 4th Cub to get in before mor Reds get in.
