Was it worth it to trade Willis McGahee?

    thoughts?

They created the unnecessary hole at the RB position by trading Willis(whom I am not a fan of).

Seems like this team will be hard pressed to compete next season as they are replacing Willis, Fletcher, Spikes and Clements so far with lynch, PSU LB, and that QB pick. (they also basically will be adding youboty and McCargo whom didn't play last season and the upgraded O-Line.

How is this year's team expected to exceed last year's mediocre team?

    I"ll only comment about McGahee.

It was worth it.. They got what I think is an instant upgrade for this offense with Lynch.. It also gave them the ammo to trade up and get POZ (with that extra third this year)- although IMO they then blew it by taking a QB in round three. But still.

On top of that, they got an extra third next year (maybe we can draft a punter to have more "depth" with that pick next year)

But I do like Lynch better than McGahee. WIllis is one of the NFL's most 5 overated players, period.

He didn't want to play here.

Plus we have Lynch now. So no hole per se.

it's always good to trade a player who doesn't want to be here and keep the ones that want to. Your heart has to be in everything you do. Even if guys like Spikes, Clements and even Willis move on to be HOF players for the rest of their careers they can't help the bills by forcing them to stay .

2 3rd round picks and a 7th round pick for a solid RB. I say that we got the better deal, especially when you take into consideration how much money that Willis McGahee wanted to stay here.

Willis had all the physical talent but lacked the effort and physical maturity to use it. We don't need that kind of trash here.

I have a feeling he'll do well in Baltimore but it doesn't matter because he would never do well in Buffalo. He didn't want to be here and couldn't get over it.

So we're better off without him. We've got Lynch to be our flashy rookie and A-Train as a vet who runs downhill.

His knee injury ruined his explosiveness, too. Lynch should break a long run or two this season.

McGahee was a cancer and an average dime of dozen RB - he couldn't catch the ball or block either. Good Riddance to him.

The Answer does agree though that this team is going to face an uphill battle in 2007, especially with all the youth that has been infused into roster, but at the sacrifice of key veteran leaders on defense.

what's a long run? Like 14 yards or something? Seriously, it's been so long since I'v seen one that I cant remember.

He had one long one vs the Jets, but I think he ended up getting caught from behind. It was a career long of like 57 yards.

I remember in his 2nd season when he started to emerge.. I thought that the run he had against the Rams was a good omen for things to come. Quite honestly, the run against St.Louis and the run against the Jets were the only 2 that I can remember.

This team removed one of the most overrated players in the league for a pretty good price. This was a no brainer move. No doubt in my mind that Lynch can gain 990 yards and 6 TD's this year. Willis did nothing but run his mouth and not back it up. He is your typical its everyone elses fault that I suck not my own type of guy. He blamed everyone else but himself for his lack of burst through the hole, or his awful pass blocking ability. The pass catching ill give him because Losman overthrew him a lot. Lynch is already a better reciever and blocker than Willis and Lynch will not be any worse than what we had with McOverrated.
