That had to be the most depressing walk from the Arena to my car ever. :ill: :sadwalk:

It definitely was the quietest I have ever heard the arena after a game. :(

good point, that place was rocking all afternoon. You could tell that by the end, the people were just exhausted. I know I was. :(

Exactly! No sense just giving up. I'm sure Colts fans didn't give up. I'm sure Senator's fans didn't give up. (:puke:) I will never give up, that is why I am a fan!

It sucks today, but after taking a deep breath, I realize that this was a great season, and I love this team. Hey, I know it hurts right now, but it could have been worse, we could have eeked our way through the season and then been left out of the playoffs because of an overtime game on the last day of the season like the Leafs! The haven't watched hockey for a month now!

something happened here and I missed most of the overtime period. I just got back to the TV to see SENS celebrating after the score. I was sad. I was in the building when Kasparitus beat "the dominator" from the red line. I have taken that walk before after spending a boat load of $$$ on the fun. It's like the place goes from absolutely nuts to completely silent. We'll try again next year. Some day we'll bring it home.

it went from completely insane, to a ghost town. It kinda felt like a funeral or something with how silent that walk was. :(

Although, it was nice to see all the fans hang around to give the Sabres one last cheer. I was happy to see everyone applauding the team before they left the ice. That's part of the reason why I wanted one last home game.

This area just seems cursed for championships. The Bills drop 4 in a row, the Sabres are robbed in 1999 by a bizarre call.

This year kind of reminded me of the Superbowl era Bills - the Sabres were outmuscled and outsized by Ottawa, much like the Cowboys dominated the Bills.

The most disheartening thing to me - if the Sabres couldn't win THIS year, with seemingly everything going for them, just when CAN they win? 5 years, ten years, 20 years? Will any of us over 40 year olds even live to see a Buffalo champion team?

I'm so disgusted now, I could care less. But honestly, it would be better for Buffalo's honor if Ottawa won the Cup - because how bad will Buffalo look if the team that dominated them in the playoffs (Ottawa) gets dominated by either the Ducks or Detroit?
