I heard a rumor that Ryan Miller might be on the cover of NHL '08.

Based on the supposed sale of jerseys and other marketing dollars for the Sabres compared to the rest of the NHL, it would be logical to have one on the cover, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't Crosby or even Ovechkin.

They've been on the cover the past 2 years... I would definitely expect a Sabre, and since Miller is the only definite big name to be here for the immediate future, he'd be the obvious choice.

I was under the impression that it didn't really affect NHL players the way it does NFL players. Ovechkin had 92 points this year and played in every game.

And the Miller thing is a joke. Why would they pick Miller over Crosby, Brodeur, Ovechkin.. etc. Crosby is definitely due.

I swore Crosby was on a cover recently... I know last year was Ovechkin and before that was Lecavlier. I don't know what I'm thinking about.

OK, now I am hearing that it is between Miller and Crosby and what they sent to stores were promos. Ryan Miller was on one and that is how the rumor started. I guess it is a possibility.

You guys must really not go to game stores very often huh? Every EBGames and Gamestop has fake covers printed up for their presales reflecting the local teams. If I believed what you guys believed, I'd think NC State players were going to be on the cover of NCAA Football too!

I'm not saying Miller might not be on it, I think he very well might. But don't take that picture as proof of anything.

It's probably just a local promotion to get people to pre-order.

I'd put my money on Crosby for this season.
