    19:15 PT: ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports the deal between the Buffalo Bills and LB Takeo Spikes breaks down as follows: Spikes received an initial signing bonus of $9 million and there is a second-tier option bonus of $1.5 million, which is due next spring. He’ll have base salaries of $1 million (2003), $2.5 million (2004), $3.5 million (2005), $4.5 million (2006), $4.5 million (2007) and $5 million (2008). There are also workout bonuses of $100,000 each 2004-2008.

      I doubt he makes them numbers in those later years he will be forced to renegotiate or be cut.

          Who knows what the cap will be in 2008 as well- could be 80-85 Million by then

            My thoughts exactly Dozer. If I'm not mistaken, hasn't it gone up over $5M in three years? At that rate, it'll be in the low 80s by then.

            And where players lose leverage later on in their careers when their performance drops off. If his drops off so soon, which I wouldn't expect, then he'll be forced to renegotiate. If not, then I would suspect that those won't be all that much out of line w/ LB #s. We may simply restructure for purposes of lowering our cap but not giving him less money overall. That I can see.

            I think Spikes is gonna be huge for this team. This is great, our D finally has an identity shaping up.
            Replace Donahoe with Modrak and fire the entire coaching staff!

            Then let's go to Disneyworld!
