    A different direction

Daunte Culpepper apparently won't be getting a chance to compete with Trent Green for the starting quarterback job in Miami.

Culpepper was told they are going a different direction with their QB spot. I know Green has been talked about, but where do you think Culpepper could go?

Looking at teams in need of a QB...Atlanta maybe? How funny would it be if he was "reunited" with Harrinton! haha

Who else do you think may look into this?

Vick and Culpepper? I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta tries to use a QB Pro set. Maybe lineup Harrington in shotgun in case they have no running lanes and have to throw it.

I really was a fan of his in Minnehaha. Not sure if it would make sense for us to bring him in though. I guess he could be a replacement for Nall ball and a very capable backup if JP were to be injured or just plain out suck.

Sorry not with you on this Thurm especially after we just drafted Edwards. That would be like bringing Drew back to the team. No thanks.

The only teams in the league that really needs a QB at this point are, ironically, Miami and Minnesota.

Some team that doesn't need him will probably bring him in for the sake of "competition". I wouldn't put it past Dallas.

the funny thing is that the only team that loves to overpay for a qb like Culp and AJ Feeley are the fins.

They are gonna have to cut him because I doubt any team(other than the fins) is stupid enough to give up anything for Culp.

I've heard 'what's his face' for Minnesota was the real deal.

Dolphins tell Culpepper they're 'going in different direction'

DAVIE, Fla. -- Daunte Culpepper apparently won't be getting a chance to compete with Trent Green for the starting quarterback job in Miami.
One day after agreeing to send a fifth-round draft pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for Green, the Dolphins told Culpepper on Wednesday they want to trade him -- a move he is resisting.
Culpepper said he was told at a morning meeting with general manager Randy Mueller and coach Cam Cameron that the Dolphins "are going in a different direction at the QB position."
"They would like to trade me in order to 'get something for me,"' Culpepper, who serves as his own agent, wrote in an e-mail. "However, it is my position that I have already been down that road and I am not interested in being traded."
Green is expected to undergo a physical in South Florida on Wednesday. If he passes it, the long-awaited deal between the Dolphins and Chiefs will be completed, a person within the NFL with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. The person requested not to be identified because the deal is not official.
Neither team confirmed the trade Tuesday. Green's agent, Jim Steiner, did not return messages seeking comment.

It will be interesting to see if Culpepper could even pass a physical prior to getting traded.

I can't see him going to Atlanta. The Vick thing won't even get to trial until after the season.

I still say Dallas. The Culpepper to Owens combo is getting Jerry Jones' panties all wet.
