An extended special teams session got Thursday's practice session started with kickoff return the main focus. The up men on kickoff return were drilled on their positioning to set up and block. Meanwhile the kickers were hitting balls to the return men, while the men in the wedge were working on setting themselves in position for the different return calls.
Opportunity for Wright
Bills fourth-round pick Dwayne Wright has been sprinkled in to the offense a bit more of late and got a full workload early as he and the second team offense were given some extra snaps Thursday. They got the nod to start the 11-on-11 team work against the second string defense.
11-on-11
The Bills defense wasn't giving up anything deep during this period of team work as J.P. Losman was forced to work a lot of the underneath and intermediate areas. As a result Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish got their share of work. Lee Evans ran a nice looking double move to get separation against Jason Webster on one play.
7-on-7
Kevin Everett made a couple of catches to get this segment started. His first reception was made with a lot of harassment coming from Angelo Crowell, but Everett was able to shield Crowell from the ball enough to make the play.
With Anthony Thomas held out with a leg injury Thursday, Fred Jackson was the main beneficiary getting more reps than he's had all week. Jackson was able to show his abilities as a receiver. He had six catches over the course of the workout.
