    Lindy's back

    Ruff Deal Agreed To
    Paul Hamilton - Tuesday, June 12, 2007 - 3:16 PM

Buffalo, NY (WGR 550)- Two independent sources have told me that Lindy Ruff has agreed to terms to continue on as coach of the Sabres with an announcement to come within the next few days. GM Darcy Regier had said in Ottawa about a week ago that he didn't anticipate any problems with either him or Ruff getting signed.

Ruff's 358 wins ranks him as the Sabres all-time winningest coach. He's the only coach in Sabres history to have back-to-back 50 win seasons.

Why would they sign Lindy first and Darcy 2nd? I would think it would be the other way around.

Well Lindy is one of the Best coaches IF NOT the best coach in the league. I don't think Darcy is in the same category as him...

But isn't Darcy the one who picks and hires the coach?

I'm thinking because the NHL Awards show is coming up on the 15th on VS. and he's up for coach of the year again. How do you think it would look to the Sabres Organization if he won the award without being re-signed?

Good. Now wrap Darcy up, then open up the vault for Drury.

We went from a bankrupt non-playoff team to the presidents trophy within 2 years, I think he deserves the COTY award. I know we all wanted the SC but we did accomplish a few things this year and only the Ducks won the cup and the way we we're playing we just would of embarrassed ourselves like Ottawa did even if we did make it.
