A simple solution for our Walker problem......

Walker wants to get paid without showing us what he can do with the guys around him?? That sounds great. Drop his final year and throw him a decent bone for reporting and let's get him going. If he can play solid ball through the first half of the season, agree to sign him to a long term deal mid-season. If he is good for nothing, let him play out his contract and move on without him. We have to get him here and see what he can do and pay for his upside, if any.

No reason to wait all year and no reason to pay him to much ahead of time, simple solution.

When you sign a FA during the offseason do you ask them to come try out with the team during the OTA's and minicamps to see how they work with the rest of the team before you give them a contract?

Did we bring Dockery and L.Walker in for a mini camp to see if they filled in good with the rest of the OL? Of course we didn't. How about the rookies drafted? He is a veteran and they have about 7 years of film to see how good he is.

This is a very lame excuse by Levy. He knew the situation Walker was having the with Eagles and he shouldn't have traded for him if they were done with their cash to cap spending for the year.

And if Marv truly wanted to see how good he is first then that means he isn't very good at evaluating players through game films.

Huh? I wrote that myself. Is it written that well that I couldn't have possibly been mine?

I agree with u, but if he sucks his first year then cut his ass his second year, dont bother paying him, we can draft his replacement!
