I think it'll be interesting to see who we predict now and who will actually be the top 5 WRs from the AFC next season. This is based purely on yards.

1. Chad Johnson
2. Andre Johnson
3. Marvin Harrison
4. Lee Evans
5. Donte Stallworth

I would put Reggie Wayne up there with the first 2, switch Evans and Harrison and drop Stallworth.

I think Hines Ward is still the best WR in the AFC however his QB hangs him out to dry an awful lot.

1. Chad Johnson
2. Andre Johnson
3. Marvin Harrisson
4. Javon Walker
5. Lee Evans

also look for Braylon Edwards to emerge.

Of course he is. According to you, so is Lynch, Losman and Jason Whittle.

Based on yards?

1- Chad Johnson
2- REggie Wayne (its his time)
3- Javon Walker
4- Lee Evans (would be higher but will be doubled to ****)
5- Coles

I think NE will be a little too spread out for one guy to be in the Top 5. Watch out for a big year from Chris Chambers also.

Big bump here. I figured I'd run down the list now that the season's well over...

1. Reggie Wayne
2. Randy Moss
3. Chad Johnson
4. Brandon Marshall
5. Braylon Edwards

Nobody figured Marshall or Edwards would be up there, and only TacklingDummy predicted Moss in the Top 5. Evans finished 16.

According to last year Evans was tied for 20th in the AFC, with L.Coles, Ronald Curry, Justin Gage and Roydell Williams. Evans had 55 rec for 849. Evans in his 5 years as a pro has just (1) 1000 yard season. Just some FYI when making your list.

Actually, Evans was 16th. We're going by yards, not receptions. Oddly enough, he's squished between 3 Houston players (Johnson, Walter, and Daniels). The leading Miami receiver (Booker) was 36th.

Really? Yards? Where does it say "YARDS" in the thread title? I went by overall statistics at the WR position in the AFC...not the statistics that makes Evans look better. Honestly that's all anyone can do because some statistics favor some players and some situations, and some staistics and some situations don't. Evans does fall 20th in Rec. But I also looked at his TD's (5) Rec. (55) and Yards (849) combined ranks him 19 to 20 in the AFC...that's not the entire NFL.

Overall statistics covers everything not just one aspect that may point in a players favor. Why did you choose yards, cause that was Evans best statistic? Why not TD's or receptions or YAC yards? You include everything and that's how you determine the best of the best. It averages everything out.

And BTW, what does Marty Booker have to do with this thread? He isn't even a Dolphin anymore! I was being nice here just passing on useful information to the fans here and once again a Bill fan has to be the one to start the crap. Obviously Booker isn't one of the top five WR's in the AFC, and no one is saying he is, so for you to bring that into this conversation was just to start trouble.

#5 Andre Johnson
#6 Brandon Marshall
#7 Marvin Harrison
#8 T.J. Houshmandzadeh
#9 Jerricho Cotchery
#10 Lee Evans

To be completely fair, Evans isn't even in the top 18 in the AFC, statistically. Remember system and QB both factor into this equation. So is it the system, Evans or the QB? Miami was in the same situation with Chambers.

Miami traded Chambers for a 2nd round pick, how would Bill fans feel if Evans was traded for a 2nd round pick? Both Evans and Chambers are the same size and through their careers have produced basically the same type of numbers Of course Chambers came in in 2001 and Evans 2004, but their numbers are identical over their first four years.

Well, Lee Evans was 4th in the AFC in YPC. Meaning if he gets the ball enough he will put up a lot of yards.

His catches were down, but his average stayed high.

His average has been the same every year. So you get him the ball 70 times, he will probably be in the top 10 for yards.

I just dont think he will catch more than 60-70 passes.

15-16 ypc for a #1 WR is amazing.

considering that there is going to be a new offense, a young qb, a rookie #2 wideout and conservative coaching....

i dont see lee evans ANYWHERE near the top 5 in the AFC in yards
