NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said other coaches also would be allowed to wear suits at home games if they desired -- though only Nolan and Del Rio expressed interest when the league surveyed the coaches during NFL meetings in Arizona in March.

after reading the story, i can't believe that the NFL nearly would just get on its knees for reebok, if the coach wants to wear suit, who cares if its team colored

I hate suits in almost any situation, but I definitely hate them on NFL sidelines. I like coaches who look like they're ready to put on a helmet and do it themselves if the players can't get it right.

I hate suits in almost any situation, but I definitely hate them on NFL sidelines. I like coaches who look like they're ready to put on a helmet and do it themselves if the players can't get it right.

in the case of some coaches i agree.... but if they want to be the "authoratative figure" and be suited, i say go for it....

im not fond of the scummy cut off sleeve look..... but ill deal with the workout clothes

see if they want to be the landry look minus the whole jerry jones screwoff, im for it...... if they wanna look like they still have hte passion to be in the game thats great too..... to an extent i must jon gruden shows some signs of that, especially when he was with TB during the super bowl year

what i hate is the coach that looks like they havent bathed in many many days, and has that same..... meh look to him... the same one who was the other man in a divorce trial.......

I think they ought to make jerseys, styled differently, for coaches but put letters on them instead,


O = OC
Q = Quarterback Coach
L = OL Coach
T = TE Coach
W = WR Coach
R = RB Coach

D = DC
E = Defense Line
C = CB Coach

S = Special Teams
K = Kickers Coach

etc

If they have additional coaches they can include a #

I used to love watch Tom Landry coaching with a suit on.

It shows the coach has CLASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

see the reason i ilke the suit look is it shows the class/rule over the team.... plus if it embroidered with something from teh team to look "official" you wouldn't have to worry about stupid companies capitalizing, although i wouldnt mind getting a black suit with a jets logo embroidered......

would probably cost a pretty penny though.

live i have said before, it should be the coaches choice to look professional..... you want everyone wearing suits or damn near close pre/post game but during game the coach cant?!
