LONDON — The Miami Dolphins’ decision to play in Europe this season cost them one of their eight home games.

That’s not a problem for Dolphins coach Cam Cameron. There’s always the playoffs.
“If we play the way we’re capable, you can gain added home games at the end of the season,” he said Tuesday in London, where the Dolphins take on the New York Giants on Oct. 28. “That’s our challenge.”
The game at the rebuilt Wembley Stadium — the traditional home of England’s national soccer team — will be the first regular-season NFL game played outside North America.
“We want to get more people to know about American football,” Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga said, adding that several thousand fans from Miami are expected to make the trip to watch the “home” game.

Can't blame the guy for trying to establish a winning attitude from the start. Every team should begin the year believing they can win, otherwise they've already lost.

It's best not to say anything to the public, especially after last season. Everyone wants to do well but putting your neck on the line & mentioning playoffs w/ a first year coach is madness.

the chances are pretty slim for the Phins and the playoffs, and even though they may be way off the same thing was said for the Saints and Jets last year, and the 4-12 Chargers a couple of years ago. Anything can happen for any team, that's why the NFL is great

anything can happen. most coaches say that crap.they have to if they want their players to think the coaches have faith in them. I doubt they will ever have negatives nancies for coaches who say nothing but we suck.

Not that I think the Dolphins will be in the playoffs, but we laughed at the Jets before last season started either. They were supposed to go 4-12 weren't they?

Exactly... The Jets were 4-12 in 2005 and had the 4th pick in the entire draft... 8 months later, they were playing the Patriots in the playoffs.

now it seems like some of you are starting to get it.

Coaches have to keep the fans interested and the players motivated. Even if Cameron looks at his team and thinks "I'm screwed with this bunch of scrubs- we'll be lucky to win two games", he's not going to say that to the media.

last time I checked I wasn't on the team.

If I was, I'd have to come on this message board and ***** about how I'm not good enough and my performance doesn't justify my cap hit and the FO screwed up by not replacing me.

Not that I think the Dolphins will be in the playoffs, but we laughed at the Jets before last season started either. They were supposed to go 4-12 weren't they?

Nobody was shocked at how the Jets played. They got a healthy Pennington back and played with some heart.

I would be shocked if the Dolphins made the playoffs or finished with a better record than us.
