John Tavares - 2008 NHL draft

The kid that is the next superstar prospect might be in next year's draft. Did anyone see that interview with his agent yesterday regarding them talking with the NHL to allow him in next year's draft? Apparently his birthday is only five days before the eligibility date so they are trying to get the NHL to allow him to go in.

And not two times older than the team he plays for?

If he does get declared eligible. The Sabres should dump the season to get him.

Yeah great idea.... We will easily still have a playoff calibur team regardless of the Drury/Briere situation. We should tank it and try for last...

If they contiue to play like they played against the Senators last placed will be a lock.

He's better than Crosby was at his age, IMO.

                  Seriously, he's that good.

But..... I'd rather we keep Drury and Briere and admire him in someplace like Hamilton.

Yes but only a ****** would intentionally tank a season in which the playoffs could easily be made.

Hmmm, I am not sure if easily is the right word without the two captains. Plus, Vanek's return is no guarantee. If all three are gone we are decidely average all of a sudden.

Plus you arent guaranteed anything even with the worst record, just ask the Flyers.

Thurm.... what is your opinion on this?

Would you rather sneak into the 8th spot and lose in round one or have the number #1 pick in the draft and pick Tavares.
