It's not one of the deals Buffalo Sabres fans had been praying for, but the club this afternoon signed rugged forward Adam Mair to a three-year contract one day before the free agency period was to begin.
"I'm really happy that I'm going to be back here in Buffalo," Mair told The Buffalo News. "It's something that was always at the top of my list. Everything went smoothly, and I think all sides are happy."..............
As of this afternoon, there were no updates to report on co-captains Daniel Briere or Chris Drury, who will hit the open market at noon Sunday if the Sabres, as expected, cannot sign them by then.
