This is a team not individuals. I guarantee you we make the playoffs without Drury and Briere.

Playoffs, yes. Serious Cup contender, no.

Yes you can see the future I forgot. I also remember all the cups we won with those 2 also.

You're a completely wrong. Players win championships and it has been proven time and time again in sports.

That seriously didn't get the job done 2 years in a row with them...

Are they the reason they failed? Because that's the only way this is a point.

Maybe we could put that 5 million a year to someone who will actually show up in the playoffs when we need him to.

I won't freak out about losing Briere, or maybe even Zubrus. If we tank on all three I'm going to be pissed.

I'd like to see what this team can accomplish with Drury wearing the 'C' full-time instead of sharing it with Briere.

Can we sign 18 guys with $5 million?

Well how does the logic work that if we just sign them back and spend more money on them, somehow they'll be good enough to get it done this year?

I think they've been good enough talent-wise for two years. The first year injuries killed them, and this year the problem was mental. They deserve more chances. Miller is just starting his prime, and all the young guys will be more experienced.

APparently you can see the future too since you "guarentee that we make the playoffs without them".

Without Drury and Briere, we are at best a middle of the pack team in the Eastern Conference.

I said it before and i'll say it again.. Losing in the Eastern Conference Finals for 2 years straight is not an accomplishment. We need new blood. They didnt get it done and they had one hell of a shot this year. Im extremely confident that the Sabres will be able to win without two people.. (regardless of who they are )

AGree about us being able to win without Briere.

Disagree about Drury---- UNLESS we can bring in an impact guy to take his important leadership position.

We dont have that on this team.

You can kiss the #1 seed in the playoffs goodbye.

We might be playing the #1 seed though since there is no way we will win 40 games by losing these two guys and not replacing them.

Sure they were. At these outrageous salaries Spacek is a bargain.
