Yes, let's not forget that Darcy didn't think he was worth 5 million a year last year on a long-term deal, but BOOM, now he is and that is what we offer him 1 year later. What kind of logic is that?

5 teams have reportedly offered Briere the same ammount, $7 million.. wow, Briere is worth 6.25 tops.

I read somewhere that 7 million in Canada is like 6 million is the US.

The Thornton deal shows there's a mutual loyalty and respect between him and San Jose. He could have gotten way more from another team next year, but he's giving them a discount because they're showing him a commitment a year before they have to. The Sabres don't know what those words mean.
