The front runner has to be Campbell. Personally, big mistake. I wonder if they will go without one until somebody (i.e., Vanek) emerges.

I agree about the committee approach.

I dont think there is a bonafide "captain" on this roster.

Mair should deserve it he doesn't score but he is a leader and he's somebody the players will listen to. He was also the only one who stayed from UFA he could've went out and tested the UFA market but he stayed.

Normally I'd say to relax and that maybe we'll come away with a Nylander or Ryan Smyth to more than make up for our losses.

But in this case, I think you're spot on. We're taking a beating with these losses and little if nothing to make up for it.

Just because you are the best player, doesn't mean you should be the captain. You need a player willing to stick up for his teammates and though I like Vanek, he isn't that player.
