Briere gone.. Drury, perhaps moments from following.

Suddenly, by not spending on either guy.. we have a TON of cap room.

Zubrus played well for us and was maybe one of the best 1-2 players on the team in the post-season. He's obviously not going to cost $6-7 million per year.

Does he become a necessity now? Will the fans revolt over losing Briere, Drury AND Zubrus?

To me.. They have to bring him back now, or the fans are going to have a real big back lash accusing Golisano of being cheap, if it doesnt happen anyway.

I think it's been more clear with him than anybody else that the Sabers were not going to try and sign him... But yeah, he'd be really nice to have right about now.

I think they ONLY reason they wouldnt want to resign him is on the basis they'd have so much tied into Briere and Drury.

But now BOTH are gone (or about to be) and our current highest paid player on the team doesnt even make $4 million next year (Max)

Yes, Vanek will get a huge raise.. But even with that, we have all the cap room in the world to sign Zubrus, who played well for us--- and hopefully 1-2 mid level at worst guys.

Id really love Nylander right now, he can be our Briere.
