Sabres in talks with Hannan and May?

WGRZ- Sources say that the Sabres are negotiating with Brad May's agent the Sabres aren't commenting. May was with the Sabres from 92-98 and was the hero when the Sabres swept the Bruins and made Rick Jeanneret's call "MayDay" famous and he is still is a fan favorite. Sources also say that the Sabres are negotiating with Scott Hannan's agent, Hannan is a 6'1" defenceman who played for the San Jose Sharks the Sabres aren't commenting on that either.

Hannan is a good defensemen.. He'd be a welcomed addition.

Dont see much use for May when we have Mair and Gaustad, both of whom are more skilled.

May would be a 4th liner.. It'd be worth it just to have him suit up for one game and pound the living **** out of Chris Neil

Hannan would be a good signing, but someone would have to be the odd man out, and not even including Tepo.

Paetsch is ready to take over for Tepo.. THat would leave either Kalinin or Spacek out, both of which are fine with me.

Im hoping one or both of them get traded.

I like Brad may for sentimental reasons as much as the next guy.. But with Peters already on the team, I dont really see much of a use for him.

May played good for the Sharks, he would add some much needed grit fairly cheap.

Looks like the Sabres are going to try hard to stray from being a speedy, quick striking team and into a more grind-it-out type of team.

Hannan's a big guy (225 pounds) who would bring more grit to the defense for sure.

he was an all star a few years ago (2003-04) but not much of a playmaker.. 24 points is his career high.

While he'd be a good pickup he's hardly going to make Sabre fans get over today's events (assuming drury is gone too)

Peters is a UFA Pat, so they could just not sign him.

They'll bring Peters back..He's cheap, he serves a SPECIFIC role and he knows his place on the team.

He doesnt mind sitting in the press box, he's just happy to be in the league.

I'd bet money Buffalo resigns him.

I'm not so sure. They still have goal scorers, Drury wasn't the fastest either. I see them still speedy and if they do sign some physical Dman we can add gritty to the description as well.

Correct. They will still be one of the fastest teams in the NHL, they will just have some more size, grit and strength.
