But we probably won't sign him either.

He'll probably be a Ranger in the next few minutes at this rate!

Pipe dream. Start scouring the list for cheap talent.

This organization is again the laughing stock of the NHL. Good job Darcy, Quinn and Golisano.

Why on earth would any decent FA want to come here?

They don't, but Darcy Dim Wit and Larry Loser will spin it...just like they do everything else! I truly am disgusted with this organization right now.

As proved in a poll that was on TSN I believe, players were asked which city would you least want to go to. #1 was Buffalo.

why because they won't pay outrageous sums of cash they don't have??

look who has done all the signings so far: Anaheim (LA), Philly, Colorado (Denver), Toronto and NYR - all big market (i.e., cash flow teams).

WGR says Smyth has Colorado at the top of the list, and has ruled the Leafs out.

Salary cap. They can only spend so much, and Quinn said that the Sabres would spend more than they spent last year. They haven't anybody to spend it on now.

While the big markets will make more money (they ALWAYS will) that argument makes no sense anymore.

yes it does...they never said if they were going to spend $45 million of actual money or if they had a "salary cap" of $45 million...huge difference. Philly is going to pay DB $10 million this year but it is only $6.5 on the cap...the Sabres could afford $6.5 million on the cap but not the $10 million in cash.
