I'm not buying the cash flow argument.

The Sabres sold out something like 60 straight home games. They made it to the conference finals two years in a row. They led the league in merch sales. Now I know they don't get the kind of ad and luxury box revenue as some of the larger market teams, but hockey is also a hell of a lot more popular in Buffalo than it is in "large" markets like LA, especially when the Sabres are winning.

It does blow you away when you think they have Jagr and Shanahan and can throw out that much money on 2 more players. Those four players have to take up almost 27-30 million in cap.

He is a restricted free agent from what I understand but one would think he will get a minimum 4MM so that would make 5 players taking 30-35MM.
