There's still 1 great FA out there

    Sheldon Souray

One of the hardest slap shots in the NHL, and a point man on the power play. Set a record last year in fact with 19 PP goals.

Umm. ANyone watching the playoffs last year saw that's what we need more than anything.

our power play was fargin BRUTAL.

      id love forsberg.

Yes we overpay for 1-2 year deal. He's not signing for $3 million, espsecially to a team like Buffalo..... But we wouldnt be committed for 5 years- and this team has a lot of young talent, a vet like FOrsberg might really help a Vanek or Stafford take the next step.

I like Souray, is a little bit of a liability on defense, but who cares if he is scoring PP goals.

Players that I also think would be succesful in this system:

        Mike Comrie
        Jeff Freisen
        Bill Guerin
        Michal Handzus
        Ladislav Nagy
        Michael Nylander
        Brendan Shanahan
        Bryan Smolinski
        Alexei Yashin
        Dainius Zubrus

        Defencemen
        Brian Berard
        Roman Hamrlik
        Tom Preissing
        Brent Sopel
        Brad Stuart

Souray is like Spacek, just a lot BETTER. I'd live with some defensive liabilities, epecially if he played with someone steady like Tallinder or maybe Tepo if he came back. If our Power play wasnt so disgusting we STILL beat Ottawa last year, no doubt.

As for the list: Id love Guerin or Shanahan. Both are great short term leaders and we do have enough young guns to make a run still with a couple of guys like these. however, I dont see any vets looking to make one final run having ANY interest in coming to Buffalo after the perception we're painting.

I hate Yashin more than any player in teh entire NHL. Nylander signed with Edmonton. I want Zubrus back given the current circumstances. I like COmrie a lot, very very underated.

Defensively, SOuray is the only one from that list Im interested in.

I dont care about any available backup goalies because if Miller gets hurt next year we're going in the gutter.
