DR said Drury chose to go to NY over BUF and Briere's price was driven higher than BUF would pay.

Re: Press Conference
Could explain why everything was so quiet from the Drury camp. If a guy does not want to be in Buffalo you can't fight it...Makes all those people with Drury jerseys feel good.
No one is doubting Briere wanted more money as of late last week. The thing is he could of been had for the 5 year 25 million extension 6 months ago.

Re: Press Conference
What a joke...we've got good players blah blah blah...blame the players for not wanting to come back blah blah blah...
Key points: admitted they should have renegoiated last off season. Wanted Drury, clearly Briere was right in saying he wasn't wanted, but he wanted to go home. Will hopefully win a championship somwhere down the road.
What a joke

Drury didn't want to be here because he knows a dead-end organization when he sees one."It is better to be divided by truth than to be united by error." -- Martin Luther

Originally posted by carybillsfanCommitment isn't about getting just 1 player, had they kept Briere or McKee or Grier or Dumont. This organization has showed once you're over 30 your not wanted. They're always close but never commit to getting all the pieces in place.
this didn't just start with CD's contract...and they can say all they want about the difference in $$ not being huge or no counteroffer from CD's people....why would they counteroffer. If they wanted him back so badly and wanted him to know that there would have been a SIGNIFICANT deal on the table much sooner. The offers to DB and CD were no more than safe face offers...they had no intent on keeping them except at bargain basement prices.
