I have really thought about it and see Marv going back to his 80's roots. He is building a winner here again and having guys fill in all the shoes.

Let's look at who's here now:

Edwards = Frank R.

Lynch = Thomas

I hope it's the late 80's and not the early 80's skoob.

Well if we get the breaks we need and JP keeps his head straight we'll be on the board in every game we play.

Nothing against Schobel but Bruce was a monster. Reggie White and Bruce are in a class of their own.

Schobel couldn't hold Bruce's jock strap... sorry Schobel is real good/solid but no where's near the greatness of Bruce Smith... Bruce would dictate entire ballgames, and was a major disruptor. Schobel has never been that type of player. Like I said he is solid and good, but no where nears Bruce Smith in his prime.... not even close.

Evans IMO is greater the Reed. Reed was awesome, Evans is better IMO

Onwe comparison todays team has with the late 80's teams is that we dont have a strong NT/DT. A pressence in the middle of our D-Line is what we need now.

you would think people would know better than to compare Schobel or any other mortals to Bruce, but apparently not.

yeah I agree with the Bruce comparison man, I just bought a bunch of old Bills games off that guy that posted his buddys email address a couple weeks ago and I've been watching a couple games and Bruce was a force, even if he wasn't getting sacks he was eating up double teams allowing guys like Jeff Wright and Darryl Talley to get to the qb and its so fun watching Bruce literally push o-lineman around. Also Thurman was so much better than McGahee, he really ran hard and fought to get extra yards and was good at bursting through holes, made some huge catches, also saw him pick up a couple blitzes. Its laughable now to think people used to compare him and Willis. Another thing that was great was seeing how LOUD the fans were back then and watching the other teams taking tons of false starts, when I have more time I will probably make a big list of things I have noticed from watching these games because there are alot of them.

Really? I like McGee, and think he can be good again, but Odomes had a certain kind of magic. :;

Some of you must be too young. You have to go back to 1985 to understand how the Bills got built. Bruce Smith was the number one overall pick and came into camp fat. The players that played on those late 80's and early 90's teams were so much better than what we have right now that it is laughable to try and compare.

Bruce Smith= No one. The guy got double and triple teamed. Schobel is lucky to get a double once ina while.

Jim Kelly=No one. I like JP but Kelly was already eons ahead of this kid at this point.

Cornelius Bennet=No one. He creted his own havoc and was a great compliment to Bruce.

Reed=Evans. I think Evans maybe good enough to fill those shoes. He hasn't played in any meaningful games to know for sure because Reed was so reliable in the big ones.

Thurman=No one right now. The guy could block, run and catch. He was the best RB in his prime. Chris Berman did 13 oops after Thurman got missed by 13 dolphins on a TD run.

Too many dominant players to even play this thread although it is fun.
