that's a steal compared to what we just paid for Vanek.

I hope Quinn and Reiger are taking notes: pay your guys BEFORE anyone else gets a chance to make them an offer.

Or it is 9 mil a year. We pay 7 on average.

Plus now the precedent has been set. Going forward I would assume all teams will look to lock these guys up. Previously it was not an issue.

you're right- I did the math wrong- but still, Crosby is a better player than Vanek. And their FO handled the situation much better than ours did.

I would rather pay a 23-year-old $7 million per year before I give a 19-year-old $9 million per. Either way, good for Pittsburgh. Crosby will still be a ripe old 25-year-old when this contract is up and still the property of the Penguins, or whatever city they are in.

Right about 2 mil a year better.

They saw a new precedent being set this year and proceeded accordingly.

Great post! This is the perfect time to start locking up Campbell and definitely Miller now. And if we can't get Miller this year, I want him extended immediately after the season.

I have 0 confidence in Reiger or Quinn being capable of getting our young core locked up long term.

they don't get it obviously and for some reason I just do not feel they will.

however I will be happy if they do, I'm just not expecting them to.

Crosby is worth every ****ing penny!

sure he is unless he becomes injured. That will destroy Pitts salary cap for a few seasons as they try to find ways to work around the cap hit.
