View Full Version : Biggest single reason Briere left for the money and not because of his feelings....

Philly had half the points the Sabres did last season and was the doormat of the east. To say I want to play for an organization on it's way up is the biggest bunch of B.S. I have ever seen. That team sucked last year and we gave them our cast goalie and now they are improved?? Give me a break and enjoy your money dwarf.

Why are you taking this so personally?

The Sabres could have kept Briere - they chose not to.

Briere left because our inept management team didn't have the foresight to lock him up at affordable rates last year or the year before.

Same goes with Drury.

Oh my god... is this going to be this year's "sluggate"??? Just give it up already. For crying out loud Skooby, you're acting like they guy dropped by your house and slapped your wife in the face before leaving.

Skooby simply doesn't want to accept the fact that the FO blew it so he's grasping at straws to justify the way the Briere situation was handled. It's his MO.

i dont blame danny at all

had the keystone front office not totally botched the situation danny woulda stuck here for less. even if they decided to go after drury they coulda managed to keep briere in the event drury refused to extend

but they got nothing cuz they are boobs

It was widely known Briere was going to Philly during last season once Marty got traded so I have a hard time blaming the FO for this one. Drury on the other hand...

I'm having a real hard time with it as well. It's amazing that people are still defending him after his obvious actions, listing his house and Marty Biron's own words.

It was widely speculated, true. But it was also talked about that he would want to go home to Montreal, that he would have signed here for $5 in January among other things as well. If the FO admittedly didn't even offer him a contract from the time he signed his one year arbitration award till about three days before UFA began, wouldn't you think they weren't interested in him?

DB never pissed on your lawn. He earned the right to play where he wants. When he was here, he played hard and had his head in the game.

I could see that coming too. I expect more from you than to be taking cheap shots at our players.

no, but the time period the shot was directed he certainly was on our roster and our roster has worked very hard the last few seasons and they deserve some more respect IMO.

Do you have a hard time blaming the FO for rejecting Briere's proposal a year ago for 5 million per over 5 years?

Its the FO's responsibility to know what the market is going to be. Had they had a clue, signing him for 5 years at 5million per is BELOW market value for a 95 point scorer/co captain/all star/all star MVP.

cart before the horse scenario, he accomplished all of that during this season.
