All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Re: Predict how much Derek Roy gets in arbitration
Just look at the inflation in salaries this offseason.........I bet Roy and his agent ask for $3.5 million and the Sabres counter at $2 million.......in hockey arbitration, the arbitor can assign a number in between.
This being said, I wouldn't doubt that a contract agreement is reached before the hearing with both players on 2 or 3 yr deals

Re: Predict how much Derek Roy gets in arbitration
He will get 4m.
He will peg himself to Nathan Horton. They have almost the exact same # of games played and points. Horton has many more goals, Roy has many more assists. Horton just signed 4 years 16 million with Florida.
Edit: actually it was 6 years 24 million...sorry. Still 4m a year.

We have talked about Horton's deal being the benchmark for this year. It will be exactly like the Havlat deal was last year to the Briere award. I have to agree that the award will be 3.75-4.25 million.

Wow! If he gets that much, the NHL is really going to come crashing down again in a couple years. That's ****ing ridiculous!
Re: Predict how much Derek Roy gets in arbitration
All of us agree then that the Sabres had better try to resign him? This is the first real test of the post-Drury Sabres. If an arbitor gives him more than $3.5 mil do the Sabres walk away?
