While working with the New York Jets, I got the opportunity to sign two great players in the same boat during their playing careers, Ronnie Lott and Art Monk. Lott was considered the greatest defender of his era and possibly of all time. Monk was on the verge of breaking the NFL record for receptions in consecutive games. They played well for us at a reduced rate of pay compared to what they had made in the past.
