March 17, 2003) -- I'll admit I have been a little skeptical about Jack Del Rio's ability to restore the Jacksonville Jaguars to contender's status.
Such a mission just seems like it might be a bit too much for a young, inexperienced coach to achieve soon enough to have a chance to grow older and more experienced in the same job. Like many other NFL observers, I also assumed Del Rio couldn't count on a whole lot of help from offseason additions because the Jaguars were supposed to have been relatively quiet in the free-agent market.
I don't feel quite so skeptical anymore.
