When Cleveland Browns’ owner Al Lerner died last year, team president Carmen Policy privately wondered if he had a future with the club. He had no relationship with Randy Lerner, Al’s son and successor as team owner, and his five-year contract expired after the 2003 season.
“I’m a realist,” said Policy, “and you don’t take anything for granted.”
Maybe now he can relax.
