Beck, who said that his wife Barbara has been constantly quizzing him in the car and at home, seems to have a firm grasp of the playbook as he directed receivers at the line of scrimmage before firing pinpoint passes.
"He's got a great football mind," Green said. "He's committed, spends a lot of time studying, and this is a pretty extensive offense when you look at the different terminology and the number of plays, and he's done a great job of picking it up.
"And from a physical standpoint I'm real impressed with him. I didn't know much about him, but he's got really good feet. He's disciplined with his reads and he has a nice arm."
Unfortunately, the recipients of most of Beck's darts were undrafted receivers and not Ginn, the ninth overall pick, who was unable to participate in two of the three offseason minicamps.
"If you're new to the offense it's important to be here," Green said. "I think [Ted] will be all right, but the sooner he can get here the better."
