The Carolina Panthers have bolstered their wide receiver corps for the second time in less than a week by reaching a contract agreement with unrestricted free agent Kevin Dyson, ESPN.com has learned.

Contract terms were not immediately available.

Carolina signed standout slot receiver Ricky Proehl from the St. Louis Rams last weekend and, coupled with the addition of five-year veteran Dyson, the franchise has upgraded a passing game that ranked 30th last season.

The Panthers also might have a new starting quarterback as free agent signee Jake Delhomme prepares to battle incumbent Rodney Peete for the job....more (http://espn.go.com/nfl/columns/pasquarelli_len/1526072.html)

Proehl is in decline and Dyson has injury concerns. If they're counting on him to be a #1 or #2, unlike in Buffalo where he would have been a #3, they're going to be sorely disappointed. The Panthers might also release Mushin Muhammad, which would be a serious blow. And again, as BH said, can Jake Delhomme get it done?
