Warren Sapp is reportedly in danger of being released by the Raiders.
Oakland has developed top-notch depth on the defensive line and may need cap room to sign JaMarcus Russell. Zack Crockett will likely be the first to go.This move would make no sense after the kind of season he had last year. If they do let him go he would be a great fit in our C2.

Nah, there's nothing wrong with guys with a bit of a personality. They get paid to entertain and I am entertained by Sapp.

(in reference to dumb and dumber) : "Pick 'em up!"

Seriously though, he is getting up there in age, but sure knows a thing or 2 about rushing the passer at DT and would help our D-lineman a lot. I dont see us picking him up if he gets cut anyways.

Sapp would be a welcome addition to the d-line. Unfortunately, I don't think Buffalo is looking to build with aging players.

I can't stand Sapp and have always thought he was a touch overrated. Not to mention he didn't exactly endear himself to Buffalo fans a few years back. That being said, he'd clearly be an upgrade to our current DT status.

An aging player that kicked ass last year? As a DT he was just as dominating as anyone getting to the QB.

As I stated earlier, I would love to add Sapp to the d-line. But it doesn't seem to fit the model of what this franchise has been doing over the last 18 months, which is to get younger.

I'd take that without thinking twice. Walker blows.

This team could use some personality.

I think Sapp has kept his nose clean enough that Marv would not steer clear due to him being flamboyant. That being said, I think we would be out-bid right out of the gate. Now, if we somehow could get him on a 2 year contract that was cap friendly, of course I think we would...but he is too good, and he would sell tickets whereever he goes...so he won't come cheap.

yeah but if we signed him, it would be a 1-2 year deal as a stopgap solution. I can't stand Sapp but we're so desperate for DT help that I wouldn't mind seeing him on a short term contract.

At a minimum, Sapp and Hargrove would make for an interesting sideline show when the offense is on the field.

Yeah, Sapp-McCargo at NT sure looks better then McCargo-Williams. It also would give us the option to move Williams over behind Tripplet. That would round out a nice rotation.
