Yeah, I'll definitely wait for a reliable source on this one. That guy is a joke and a half.

I am thinking he will get between 4 and 4.5 mil per. Hopefully we can lock him up for 4 or 5 years.

When are people going to start complaining about how we could have signed him in 2004 for a 10 year deal for 1 million dollars... :shakeno:

No. Its 6 Years, $4 Mil per.

6 year, 24 mil deal.

GREAT signing. Not stupid like the 5 million. He could become a real bargain.

Our most electric line is now locked up for a while. Until the Max contract becomes a problem.

4 million per is not too bad.

Once again "Do Nothing" Darcy waited until the last possible minute. This could have all been avoided if he signed Roy two years ago to a contract for half the price. Un-freaking-believable.

The way contracts are going these days and will probably keep escalating, I'm suprpised that Roy would sign a 6 year deal.

Darn it we could of signed him to a mill a year deal for ten years in 2004.
What a waste of extra money.

The Sabres' offseason goes from catastrophic to merely a disaster

It looks like Darcy finally learned his lesson. Lock them up and not just for a year or two. Lock them up LONG TERM!

I think it's funny you are happy about this now, yet in the "guess how much he gets thread" You said 4 million was insane.

The NHL will experience another lockout before the end of this contract.

Not a bad deal, only think id like from Roy is less of his diving all over the ice, the refs are on to him and he's not helping the team any.

it is insane! But it would be more insane if it wasn't a long term deal. Seeing how it's 6-years, it's not as bad.

4 million is about right when you consider the best players get over 7-8

Looks like the NHL is going back to the old ways. I am surprised the Sabres are going with them. Way too much money.

I can't stand Roy's diving...but I'm glad he's here for the next 6 years, and 4m isn't too bad.

Waaaayyyy too much for Roy, but it is market value. I don't like the direction this league is going and I'm almost certain we are heading for another lockout. At least he's signed long term. Now only if Darcy would start addressing the problems with this team, such as...too small, not enough character, not enough toughness. Hey, why address the problems that cost us a cup??? [sarcasm]

Bad news is no matter how you spin it or what happens from here on out, Regier/Quinn ****ed up with Briere and especially Drury.

The good news is at least the FO seems to learn from it and is trying to prevent that debacle from happening again to its next crop of best players.

chernobylwraiths

BTW, I'm not *****ing about the signing as much as about the money. I know in this case they really couldn't avoid it. With idiotic signings like Horton's and the two RFA offer sheets by Edmonton driving salaries up, this is going to be a bad thing in the long run for the NHL.

I'm glad they signed him, but I don't know if he is worth it. He better start picking up his game.

Roy is goning to step up and have a huge year.

6 years is fantastic. Roy's a stud... $4 mil/year is extremely reasonable given what he is capable of.
