Jabari Greer has deservedly earned the nickel cornerback job coming out of training camp in each of the past two seasons. He has also subsequently lost the job early in the regular season both years.
One can argue that the stumbling block for Greer is the fact that he is the lightest defensive back on Buffalo's roster. Weighing in at 175 pounds Greer is ten pounds lighter than the next closest player. It made holding up against the run and jockeying for position with bigger and stronger receivers difficult in pass defense.
The weight discrepancy is why Greer's major goal of the offseason was to get up to 185 pounds. He is currently about five pounds away from his target weight.
