Jay Riemersma Signs With Steelers

PITTSBURGH -- Free agent tight end Jay Riemersma signed with the Steelers, WTAE's Andrew Stockey reported Wednesday. Terms were not immediately available.

Riemersma (6-5, 252, Michigan) caught 32 passes for 350 yards last season with Buffalo. He has 204 catches for 2304 yards and 20 touchdowns in six career seasons, all with the Bills.

The Steelers recently re-signed tight ends Jerame Tuman and Matt Cushing, and Mark Bruener continues to recover from knee surgery.

Riemersma was athletic, but we could never count on him being on the field. He'll catch some balls in Pburgh..
